About the Author

Saren Riso

I never wanted to write a novel about finance.
I wanted to write a novel about people.

A Few Words

Perhaps a little of every character.

Saren Riso prefers to remain behind the story. Like the novel’s narrator, the author leaves clues rather than a complete portrait.

Collateral Crisis was written from a conviction: the major crises of our time are too often told through figures, while their true cost is measured in lives, relationships and choices.

“I may be a little of Sarah, Karen, Sophie, Rinaé — and perhaps of all the others.”

Why this book

Why This Book?

The figures were everywhere. The people, far less so.

The novel was born from a simple question: what happens to the women and men hidden behind financial vocabulary?
